Netcomm NB604N modem and Wi-Fi setup

This guide looks at exploring the modem Internet and Wi-Fi setup for the Netcomm NB604N modem on an ADSL based connection. 

Netcomm NB604N Modem Internet Setup

1. Firstly connect your modem to your computer using an Ethernet cable as shown below.

2. Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari) and type in the address bar 192.168.1.1, then press “Enter” on your keyboard.

3. A box will ask you to log in with Username and Password. Use the details below:

  • Username: admin
  • Password:  admin

If admin does not work as the password, please try the last 6 characters of your MAC address (lowercase first and then uppercase). These can be located on the bottom of your modem. 

4. Once logged in click 'Basic setup' on the left of the page.

5. Enter the Internet Username and Password provided by Flip. If you do not know your username and password, please send our team an email at support@flip.co.nz and we will supply you with this information. 

Example: User ID: 2011123@flip.co.nz

              Password: Flip12345

6. Click "Apply/Save" and you will be able to browse the internet. 

Netcomm NB604N Wi-Fi Setup

This section will assist you in setting up your Wi-Fi name and password. We recommend completing this to secure your Wi-Fi network. 

1. Firstly connect your modem to your computer using an Ethernet cable as shown below.

2. Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari) and type in the address bar 192.168.1.1, then press “Enter” on your keyboard.

3. A box will ask you to log in with Username and Password. Use the details below:

  • Username: admin
  • Password:  admin

4. Select 'Wireless' from the left hand side.

5. Ensure 'Enable Wireless' is ticked and enter your preferred Wi-Fi network name in the 'SSID' field. Then click 'Apply/Save'.

6. Choose 'Security' under the 'Wireless' section. Select Network Authentication as 'WPA2-PSK' and enter your desired Wi-Fi password in the WPA/WAPI passphrase section. Ensure your password is secure and at least 8 characters long. Click 'Apply/Save' to finish your Wi-Fi setup.
