Netcomm: Changing wireless channel

 

Each modem in your neighborhood has their own respective WiFi channel. Hence, if all modems in one area will be on the same channel then it will cause network traffic that will result into slow WiFi connection and WiFi dropouts. Changing the Wireless channel of the modem will help resolve the issue stated.

 

To start the process you will need to have a computer connected to the modem using an Ethernet cable as shown below

 

 

 

  

Next, open your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari) and type in the address bar 192.168.20.1 or 192.168.1.1 then press “enter” on your keyboard.

 

      OR     

 

A box will ask you to log in with Username and Password. Use the details below

 

Username: admin

Password:  admin

 

Once logged in follow the steps below on how to change the WiFi channel of the modem.

 

1. Click" Wireless"

2. Then "Advanced"

3. Choose a "channel"

4. Hit "Apply/Save" 

 

 

Note: If one channel does not work, then do the same process and select a different channel
