After joining up and going live today I have spent a couple of hours of effort before finally managing to correctly configure my modem and connect to Flip broadband. The process was made more difficult because in the introductory emails there was no mention of standard configuration settings, in particular the user name (a/c email@example.com) and password that you need to put into your modem. I found a reference to this in a technical help article on this website but was a little disappointed that it wasn't included in the introductory emails. Clearly from the Flip emails, on most occasions this level of configuration is not required by the user, and in hindsight I should have just rung the Support Team straight away, but I was reluctant to do so in case the problem was at my end, especially as I am using an older modem and not one of the four that Flip says they provide support for.
Constructive feedback: consider including a bit more technical information in your introductory emails about setting up / connecting. I appreciate you can't cover off the diversity of modems out there but there are some standard settings. The other reason to include this in the emails is for users like me - I wasn't shifting from another provider but starting afresh, and not everybody has smart phones, so looking stuff up on the technical support can be a bit tricky without internet in the first place.
Anyway, all working now and looking forward to seeing how good the ongoing service is.
